October 2nd 2008 3C Asset Management 100% owned by Sampo Bank
According to a contract signed today, 3C Asset Management Ltd, an investment firm specialized in hedge funds and alternative investments, is now wholly owned by Sampo Bank Plc. Sampo Bank’s ownership of 3C Asset Management Ltd before the transaction was 51%.
3C Asset Management Ltd has been operating for over eight years and the company was a pioneer in Finland in the areas of alternative investments, hedge funds and risk management.

- The integration of 3C Asset Management Ltd’s business activities with Danske Capital is going to strengthen the bank’s position as an operator in the market of the alternative investments, the Managing Director of Danske Capital Finland, Antti Mantila notices.

July 7th 2008 Hedge funds attract investors in Finland
The Finnish newspaper Kauppalehti wrote an article about hedge funds saying they act as a good hedge against hard times in the equity markets. The paper writes that the Finnish hedge fund sector is still small compared to the overall fund market and that hedge funds in Finland in general take less risk than international hedge funds. Mr. Jori Kiviniemi, 3C Edge’s portfolio manager is interviewed saying he believes the equity bear market will continue. Mr. Kiviniemi is negative on the industrial sector but he believes that the energy sector will perform well in the current market environment. 3C Edge’s return over the past twelve months is +18%.

March 25th 2008 Changes in fund names
The names of the funds Mandatum Omega, Mandatum Neutral, Mandatum Vipu and Mandatum Kontra will change effective March 25th 2008. The new names of the funds are: Danske Omega, Danske Neutral, Danske Vipu and Danske Kontra, respectively
